Completing the online application should take you about 15 minutes.
Before submitting your application please read the following instructions carefully.
To move between E-Pool screens you must use the navigation buttons located at the bottom of each screen.
Some screens have a symbol at the end of the input field name, indicating that it is a mandatory field. If a
mandatory field has not been filled, you will be returned to a screen that shows what is missing in red text above
the empty field. Simply add in the mandatory information to complete your application.
Once your E-Pool application is confirmed you will be issued with an E-Pool password. You can use this password to update your details, at
any time, online. If you misplace your password you should ask for assistance by e-mailing: epool@education.tas.gov.au.
Applicants should only register once.
Please ensure that you have the following information ready for entry.
Personal Details
- Your contact postal address
- Your contact phone number
- Your contact email address (if you have one)
- The date you accepted a redundancy from a Tasmanian government organisation (if applicable)
- The names and contact details of your referee(s)
Qualifications
- Details of relevant qualifications including when and where obtained

Good Character Check
You must complete a Good Character Check Form. This
enables the Department of Education to undertake a number of checks to ensure that you satisfy the requirements of a Good Character
Check (Commissioner’s Direction Number 10). You will need to print out a
copy of the form and complete all sections. This includes ensuring a
Commissioner for Declarations witnesses your signature and confirms your identity.
If you have resided or worked interstate or overseas, or are currently applying for employment from outside Tasmania, you will also be
required to obtain a statement from the relevant authorities indicating either that you do not have a criminal record or the offences for
which you have been convicted. If this is difficult to obtain you are advised to contact the Department’s Investigations
Unit through grievances@education.tas.gov.au.
Personal Information Protection Statement
Personal information will be collected from you for the purpose of registering your application and will be used by the Department of Education to match you to relevant fixed-term or relief teaching position and may be used for other purposes permitted by the State Service Act 2000 and regulations and directions made by or under the Act.
Failure to provide this information may result in your application not being able to be processed.
Your personal information will be used for the primary purpose for which it is collected and in the case of applications for relief teaching will be disclosed to our contracted employment agency, Manpower.
Personal information will be managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004. You may access your personal information on request to the Department of Education. You may be charged a fee for this service.
